About Marina
Marina Alzugaray is a spiritual midwifery leader who was born in Cuba and immigrated to the U.S. when she was 17 years old.

She graduated from high school in Virginia, went to nursing school at Golf Coast Community College in Florida, obtained her Nurse Practitioner certification at USC, received her Bachelors of Arts from Antioch University and a Masters in Nurse Midwifery at UCSF.
​
Not only did she spend almost 40 years as a midwife delivering over 3,000 babies, but spent 30 of those years conducting workshops around the world training midwives, doulas and even doctors in over 17 different countries. From hospital births, to home births, to orgasmic births, and water births, she is an experienced in every different type of birthing form.
Throughout her career, Midwife Marina has also been facilitating “Red Tent” workshops. She guides women to connect with their cycles and promotes initiations for “first blood” experiences and beyond with ‘my moon cards.’ Since retiring from active practice, she opened her ‘Oogonia Sanctuary’ leading spiritual activists and midwives through ancestor healing, international collaborations and connection with nature and spirituality.
